1. Submission of Withdrawal Request
- Authors wishing to withdraw their manuscript must submit a written request explaining the reason for withdrawal via the journal's official email (jurnal.ilkom@umi.ac.id).
- The request must be sent by the corresponding author, and all authors listed in the manuscript must be included in the email correspondence.
- The withdrawal request must include the article title, article identification number (if applicable), and a clear reason for the withdrawal.
2. Editorial Consideration
- The editor will review the withdrawal request and check the manuscript’s status, whether it is under review, accepted for publication, or already published.
- If the manuscript is under review, the editor will request confirmation from the relevant reviewers and inform them about the withdrawal request.
- If the manuscript has been accepted for publication, the editor has the right to deny the withdrawal request unless the withdrawal involves ethical issues or significant errors.
3. Withdrawal of Published Manuscripts
- If the authors wish to withdraw a manuscript after it has been published online, withdrawal can only be done in cases of serious ethical violations (e.g., plagiarism, data or analysis errors).
- Articles that have already been published online cannot be removed, but the journal will add a "RESTRICTION" statement to the manuscript with a brief explanation of the reason for withdrawal. This will be done without removing the original article to maintain transparency and the integrity of the publication record.
4. Sanctions for Violations of Publication Ethics
- If the withdrawal request is made without an acceptable reason or after the review process has progressed significantly, all authors on the article may be sanctioned, including a ban on submitting manuscripts to ILKOM Jurnal Ilmiah.
- Authors are also required to cover administrative costs already incurred by the journal, amounting to 80% of the publication fee, especially if the withdrawal is made during the final stages of the publication process.
5. Public Announcement
- In cases where a manuscript is withdrawn after being accepted for publication or already published, the journal will issue a public announcement regarding the withdrawal on the official journal website, clearly stating the reason in accordance with the journal's policy.
- The announcement will be displayed on a special page listing all withdrawn articles.
6. Withdrawal Procedure
- If the withdrawal request is approved, the editorial team will send an official confirmation letter stating that the manuscript has been withdrawn from the review or publication process.
- The withdrawal will be updated in the journal's system, and the editor will stop any further processes related to the manuscript.
